Score Choice will be available to all students taking the March 2009 test, as well as to students who have taken the SAT prior to that date. According to College Board, what score choice means is that students will be given the option of choosing which scores (by test date for the SAT and by individual test for Subject Tests) they want sent to colleges. They can choose scores from one, several or all SAT test dates.
HOWEVER, many colleges have their own admission requirements do not want to go along with this score choice program and are coming up with their own individual policies about which scores are sent to them.
Here is a link to the College Board site that explains the new system and provides a tutorial on how students can determine which test scores different colleges want from them.
For the ACT Test, score choice option is still available from ACT without exception. Students request scores from whatever test date they chose be sent to whichever colleges they choose. ACT only sends the scores for the individual test dates chosen. If colleges want to see scores from other ACT test dates, they have to request them from the student, who in turn, asks ACT to send them.
